Hera Inbox

Issue #4

An Inbox, in your calendar

A calendar is full of life: events get created, re-scheduled, invitations are sent, conflicting events arise... But we are never notified of such changes.

๐Ÿ‘†Actually, we ARE notified of some of these changes, but by email โ€” far away from our calendar so it suffers from context loss. This event has been re-scheduled, but what do I have at that time?

We've fixed this with Hera Inbox - from there, our users get alerted on the most important stuff happening with their calendar.

What makes us & users ๐Ÿ’œ this feature?

๐Ÿ”ƒ No back & forth anymore between emails and calendar - they can stay in their calendar to reply to meeting invites, to get informed that a meeting is at risk, etc.

โšก๏ธThe inbox is blazing fast - users can navigate and get things done without leaving their keyboard!

What are the next steps for this feature?

So far Hera is a single player tool. As soon as we support more collaborative use cases, the Inbox will play a role of Command Center where users can be notified of other colleagues' actions.

๐Ÿ‘‰ If Bruno tags Louise in an event, Louise will get notified in her Inbox.

We also want to make each message highly actionable, i.e make sure users have all the context to act on it (showing conflicting events to RSVP messages etc).

We all have our preferences and habits when it comes to sharing availabilities (cf this Twitter thread ๐Ÿ˜…)At Hera, we want to make things right and personalized.

That's why we let users customize the message to send to their recipients when sharing availabilities!

What makes us & users ๐Ÿ’œ this feature?

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท Users can write a message in their recipients' language to foster relationships.

They can craft a message that blends with their writing style ๐Ÿ–Š

Other improvements

Fridays are dedicated to small improvements in the product - Beta Friday ๐ŸŽ‰ - to make users' life easier.

A few of them include:

  • ๐Ÿ“น We now handling properly the lifecycle of ย Zoom meetings created via Hera! When users move, extend, change the title or delete an event for example, we will automatically update the meeting in Zoom.
  • ๐Ÿช„ When users โ€œMeet withโ€ someone, we pre-fill the event title to โ€œ{user name} x {attendee first name}โ€
  • โšก๏ธ The command palette got improved! Users can now duplicate events from there.
